Building Auckland’s most spectacluar shopping centre was a huge job and the Gulf team was heavily involved for more than a year.

Gulf’s contribution included sealant application on the many Tilt Slabs around the site – visible on all four sides of the development, spanning two city blocks.

2018 Auckland Architecture Awards Winner, Unitec The Hub – Te Puna represents a brave move by the Unitec institute of technology to support the development of a community hub and library. Polished and assured, the building is an excellent conversion of what was once a windswept courtyard into an embracing gathering space. Delivery of a comfortable environment for occupants has been a motivating factor for the architects. The clearly defined roof structure caps an ethereal, light-filled and naturally ventilated space.

Gulf’s contribution included sealant application, waterproofing and passive fire. Specialised waterproofing included an 11m x 4m water feature/living wall.

The Tatua Co-operative Dairy Company Ltd, trading as Tatua, is an independent co-operative dairy company in the Matamata-Piako District of the Waikato Region, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located in the rural locality of Tatuanui, approximately 8 kilometres east of Morrinsville. The co-operative is owned by 114 shareholder farms, all located within a 12 kilometre radius of the processing factory.

The company specialises in the production of dairy ingredients and dairy foods including, dairy flavour ingredients, specialty nutritional ingredients, bionutrients, consumer and foodservice dairy products.

Gulf’s contribution to this project included the application of 60,000 linear metres of sealant, including all hygiene areas to a very high standard.

Located in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore is Ultimate Care Rosedale Village, a modern retirement village offering comprehensive care packages to those living in serviced apartments in a boutique village setting. Gulf provided Passive Fire protection services throughout the facility.

China’s Yashili NZ opened its Pokeno infant formula manufacturing plant in 2015 in a location selected for optimal logistics and product transportation. The state of the art facility covers 30,000 square metres and is strategically located on the main highway within the triangle formed by Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. The production plant was designed and constructed with the help of New Zealand-based companies to operate under strict quality controls, and all of its output is shipped to China.

The NZ Defence Force Battle Training Facility (BTF) is a Papakura based four-storey special operations unit built of reinforced concrete, rubber and steel with special features to simulate scenario-specific training. It looks like a plain concrete building, but is surrounded by a special tar seal designed to stop live rounds from ricocheting. Inside is lined with steel and reinforced rubber blocks and ballistic, moveable walls to imitate different environments. The building also has a full live-fire stairwell, a main ground-floor training space with two storeys, 360-degree balcony, roof entries and many more world class training provisions.

The Waitemata District Health Board Awhina Simulation Centre is a sophisticated, high tech clinical training facility that contains the features of a fully operating hospital environment for students to observe, learn and practice. The unique 475 sq m Simulation Centre is purpose retro-fitted as a mini-hospital environment suitable for a wide range of medical and healthcare training. Awhina allows the DHB to provide high-quality and high-value learning, research and innovation opportunities and fulfil its promise of ‘best care for everyone’.

National Mini Storage was one of the first Self Storage companies in New Zealand when it opened in 1991. Over the following years further Auckland sites were purchased and developed into self-storage facilities. In 2007 they added the Albany 2 facility after converting an existing warehouse, completing an award winning extension in 2015. Each new build or extension has to incorporate new technologies and innovations to improve services for customers, and is created using long term suppliers to ensure professional maintenance and upgrades.
